Different, Differences

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN

A goldfish and a mountain goat ?
One mucks around in fountains.

A magician's wand and a poli*ceman's baton ?
One is used for cunning stunts.

A cross eyed archer and a constipated owl ?
One shoots but can't hit.

A Swiss admiral and a reliable vacuum cleaner ?
One sucks and sucks and never fails.

Caucus and cactus ?
One has the pri*cks on the outside.

A girl in church and a girl in the bath ?
One has a soul full of hope.

A war horse and a draught horse ?
One darts into the fray.

Your girlfriend and your bank account ?
Nothing, You lose interest on withdrawal.

A good girl and a nice girl ?
A good girl has the bloom of youth in her cheeks but
the nice girl has the cheek of youth in her bloomers

joke: Blind Date

THINGS A GUY DOESN'T WANT TO HEAR HIS BLIND DATE SAY:

I'm glad we have this date tonight. My boyfriend just got out of pri*son
and I really didn't want to be alone.

Do you mind if we stop by the free clinic? I want to see if my test
results are in.

Don't worry, I've got the training sessions cut down to an hour if
you're a good boy and pay attention.

That's odd, you sounded handsome on the phone.

Do you have to shine your bald spot or does that glare just happen?

This is my first date since I was released from Bellevue. They think
that sch*izo-para*noia thing was because of unresolved issue's in my past
lives. By the way, why do you keep calling me Mary?

Turn here! That looks like my husbands car ahead.

You look surprised. Didn't you know I was a male impersonator.

I'm sorry, something came up and I can't make it, but I've arranged for
my cousin Grunhilda to go out with you. Have you ever dated a female
wres*tler before?

Could you pull into that gas station? I need to change my diaper

I'm twelve!! <-- Ha ha!

Kiosk owner printed forged bus tickets

Kiosk owner printed forged bus tickets

A kiosk owner was arrested in Kavala, northern Greece, after she was caught producing and selling forged bus tickets, police said yesterday.

The woman, who was not identified, was using a printer that produced high resolution copies. However, the forged items still had inferior quality paper and colors that differed from the real items, according to authorities.

Bus company officials said that the suspect is not believed to have been selling the tickets for long but did not mention the exact period of time the operation may have been running.

Police were led to the kiosk after an inspector came across a university student who had purchased one of the forged tickets.

A search of the woman?s home also uncovered cutting equipment and some ticket books.

FOREIGN CHILDREN STRUGGLE IN CYPRUS SCHOOLS

LEFT OUT AND BULLIED: FOREIGN CHILDREN STRUGGLE IN CYPRUS SCHOOLS

19/11/2006- Most children of immigrants and ethnic minority groups in Cyprus schools live in social exclusion from their Cypriot classmates. This was the main conclusion to emerge yesterday from a workshop on the integration of foreign children organised by migrant support group KISA. Support groups and unions engaged in a public dialogue with state representatives and university professors, with the key participation of immigrants whose children attend Cypriot schools. Not only are foreign children not integrated in the classroom, they often suffer from racism and bullying, while there are common assumptions that children of other ethnicities are under-qualified to attend the same schools as local children. As a result, these minority groups feel an added pressure to succeed, according to Cyprus College Professor and head of the Centre for the Study of Childhood and Adolescence, Spyros Spyrou. ?There are popular misconceptions, such as that the dominant group does not need to change or learn,? said Spyrou, adding that society needs to change as much as immigrants do if there is to be true integration. Spyrou presented an eye-opening study, through which a number of disturbing findings emerged, such as the fact that foreign children doing well are not praised like local children are, but usually get the blame if something bad happens. ?These children are excluded from school groups and so are their parents ? unofficially, but they are. ?And some foreign parents don't even send their children to school because they know they are not welcome,? added Spyrou. The study was carried out on the pupils of 10 different elementary schools in Nicosia and it was centred on acquiring children?s views on foreigners. Eight out of 10 Cypriot children said they believed there were too many foreigners in Cyprus, while 39 per cent said all foreigners should go home and 46 per cent said some of them should return to their countries.

Asked what came to mind when they heard the word ?Pontian?, the most common answer was ?jokes?, while asked what they thought of when they heard the word ?Sri Lankan?, most thought of ?black? with ?domestic worker? coming a close second.
Serious misconceptions surfaced in the personal interviews that were carried out with the pupils. One child?s response to what he thought of Sri Lankan nationals was: ?They eat snakes and they are poor people.? Other responses included: ?Because they have nothing much to do, they have children? and ?Let?s just say I don't like blacks?. An 11-year-old boy replied: ?I had a Filipino in my house; she was relatively good, she obeyed me; she was good.? Representatives from the Education Ministry, the University of Cyprus and other non-governmental organisations attended and took an active part in the discussion. Spokesmen for the Education Ministry admitted that there was still a way to go until the perfect environment was achieved for children of minority groups. But the head of the Primary Education Department pointed out that the ministry has done a lot so far. He said, among others, that the ministry had added 1,355 school periods for the benefit of foreign pupils, had created education centres for adults, had organised seminars for the re-education of teachers and had consulted the Attorney-general on the rights of foreign children in education. The workshop was organised by KISA, in co-operation with Secondary School Teachers? union (OELMEK) and the Centre for the Study of Childhood and Adolescence.

Bravo to the Greeks Abroad... Correction to a review..? !

Food can?t be to everyone?s taste

Aa the manager of Steki's Taverna in Brighton, I am deeply disappointed with Xenia Gregoriadis's review (The Guide, October 27).

She called our calamari "soggy"

and complained it wasn't taken off her bill. I thought it was cooked perfectly so didn't take it off her bill but did offer her a glass of wine or dessert.

She said our green salad was uninspiring. It has shredded lettuce, spring onions, cucumbers and olives, sprinkled with extra virgin olive oil and either fresh lemon juice or vinegar. This is the way a green salad is served in traditional Greek tavernas back in Greece.

This is not a fancy restaurant, it is a taverna. The difference between the two is simplicity.

Our customers love our meze and 80 per cent of our customers are Greek. We've had many excellent reviews in the past and these can be read at www.steki.co.uk Our customers give us excellent feedback - people who are Greek, have been recommended by Greeks or have been to Greece and say this is traditional Greek food. One customer said our potato balls and courgette balls are "better that her Granny's".

Our desserts are made in Greece at a small factory in Kavala which feeds almost all the patisseries in town. Our souvlaki comes from Greece and our recipes come from well-known chefs in Greece.

The same weekend the review was published, a reservation for six was about to cancel but decided to ignore the article and try us. They had almost all of the menu and loved our food.

We are not here by chance.

Greek customers from Brighton were coming to our other restaurant in Portsmouth and have been asking us for eight years to open a taverna in Brighton.

There were also mistakes in the article. Miss Gregoriadis said I am the owner. I am not, I am the manager. The owner is Mrs Emmanouil Lykidis.

She also called me Maria Tsorpidou not Vicky Tsorpidou - Maria was the waitress who served her. We are open Sunday to Friday, 12pm-11pm and on Saturday 12pm-midnight.

We have never had a single complaint after eight years of running a taverna in Portsmouth, so obviously our food is not to her taste.

    Short and Sweet

    A man walked into the bar. As he waited for his drink, he noticed a
    gorgeous young Indian girl sipping a soft drink at the other end of the
    bar. He told the bartender to give her a real drink.

    The bartender replied, "I can't. The C.P. would be on my a*ss." "What's the
    C.P.?" I asked. "City Pol*ice" he replied.

    The man finished his drink and ordered another. Again, he asked the
    bartender to give the Indian girl a real drink, but this time the bartender
    said, "I can't. The S.P. would shut me down." "What's the S.P.?" "State
    Pol*ice".

    Just then the Indian girl got up an walked out of the bar. The man hurried
    out after her. An hour later, he staggered back into the bar, his clothes
    covered with blo*od, his nose broken.

    "The F.B.I. got me!" the man moaned.  "What do you mean the F.B.I?", the
    bartender asked.

    "A Fkn Big Indian!"

    The nerve endings," said Gabriel. "How many will I put in her hands?"
    "How many did we put in Adam?" asked The Lord.
    "Two-hundred, O Mighty One," replied Gabriel.
    "Then we shall do the same for this woman," said The Lord.

    "How many nerve endings should we put in woman's gen*itals," inquired
    Gabriel.  "How many did we put in Adam?" asked The Lord.
    "Four-hundred and twenty, O Mighty One," replied Gabriel. "Of course. We
    did want Adam to have a means of receiving extra pleasure in his life,
    didn't we?

    Do the same for woman," said The Lord.  "Yes, O Great Lord," said Gabriel.

    "No, wait!" said The Lord. "Stuff it, give her ten-thousand. I want her to
    scr*eam out my name."

    Latest threat: Wikipedia attack

    Latest threat: Wikipedia attack

    November 16, 2006

    A recent attack on the German Wikipedia site is evidence of a growing trend that targets Web 2.0 applications, sites and services, which allow content to flow both to and from a community of users. Web 2.0 applications include blogs, podcasts, and folksonomies (information retrieval methodologies that develop in Internet-mediated social environments, such as Flickr and Del.icio.us).

    The attack on the German version of Wikipedia ironically used an encyclopedia entry for the Blaster worm, which was modified to include download links for a fake patch. When the user followed the links and installed the patch, he or she was hit with a trojan instead.

    "Web 2.0 is a popular term for applications, sites and services that are collaborative or even bi-directional, and includes sites such as Wikipedia, MySpace, EBay, YouTube, and others," explained David Perry, global director of education at Trend Micro. "Unlike the World Wide Web, which is more or less a hypertext linked set of documents, and is a very one way or top down architecture, Web 2.0 allows the content to flow both to and from a community of users. If it makes everyone a producer of information in open trade, then it's a Web 2.0 sort of thing. This has worked in a very big way, but there's a dark side."

    While the official Wikipedia pages and archives were cleaned immediately after the attack, a hacker subsequently distributed an email claiming to be from the official Wikipedia email addresses and including links that, if clicked, would take the user to a Wikipedia look-alike page at "wikipedia-download.org" which is actually running on a server named "h4serv.webhostingoutsourcing.com". While the rogue domain "wikipedia-download.org" has nothing to do with the real Wikipedia, it has been registered with the same registration information as the real wikipedia.org domain, except that the real Wikipedia domain is registered to St. Petersburg, Florida, and the IP address of the fake site is located in St. Petersburg, Russia.

    The rogue site page has several download links for patches, all of which download the same file. The download (identified as Trojan-Dropper.Win32.Small.atq) actually installs the original patch from Microsoft - and then drops a trojan.

    "Web 2.0 empowers ordinary users to add content to web based applications, content like text, url links, videos, audios, and even executable code," said Perry. "We have spent the last decade learning that, given the right circumstances, all of these things can be corrupted to distribute, install, and interact with malware. With services guaranteeing users a private download environment and shared content, and the limitless potential for illicit profit, Web 2.0 hacks can only increase from here on."

    VIDEO: Candid Camera - "The Man Show"

    All,

    Here is Candid Camera, "The Man Show" style in action in a clothing store.
    Click below to see the 2 video clips of both guys and how they react &
    excel in "customer service" in front of such a demanding customer

    http://members.ozemail.com.au/~athatecj/Stuff/changingroom_1.wmv
    http://members.ozemail.com.au/~athatecj/Stuff/changingroom_2.wmv

    This Windows Media Video (WMV) clip with sound is kinda big (1.89MB each)
    to send out as an attachment especially for Dial-up users so I've being
    considerate and temporarily placed it off my homepage site for all you to
    see/hear and also for those who are stuck with Proxy server connections at
    work or in a Netcafe which only allow HTTP (WWW/Port 80) Internetwork
    traffic throughput only.

    This will give you a chance to save it if you so like it. I'll leave it up
    a week or so for you all to see/save it.

    Alternatively, you can click on my shortcut directory link of
    http://members.ozemail.com.au/~athatecj/Stuff/ & pick the file you want by
    "Right Click - Save Target" to anywhere you like.

    Click the link below and wait a while (say 10, 15mins on dial-up!) for it
    to download and play it in something like Media Player/MPlayer
    (Linux/UNIX/MacOS) etc.

    If it doesn't work well the 1st time, try and play it again as it should
    play from the buffered files on your PC or give me a holler as I might be
    able to assist.

    Usual issues I've encountered is unable to display the file due to a
    CODEC. If Media Player prompts you, go online & download/install the codec
    or let me know and I'll see if I can source some but let me know what
    version of media player you're running.

    Enjoy,

    /Johnno :-)

    McCartney v McCartney

    McCartney v McCartney
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    It's a very sad world we live in when Sir Paul McCartney and his wife are
    facing divo*rce and all anyone seems to want to do is make jo*kes about her
    false leg. Personally, I think it's prosthetic.
    News reports have confirmed that Paul McCartney has separated from his wife
    Heather Mills-McCartney. Mrs Mills-McCartney is said to be distraught over
    the split. "He has been my cru*tch for so long"! She said in an earlier
    briefing, "I have no idea why this has happened, I'm really stumped"
    "She's running around in circles", according to a close friend, "she will
    need all the support she can get. It's not like its easy to walk out on a
    relationship like this"
    After his break up with Heather, Paul was asked if he would ever consider
    going down on one knee again. Paul said he would prefer it if we called her
    Heather.
    It is not known whether a pre-nuptial agreement was signed prior to the
    marriage. Paul McCartney is one of the richest men in the world, and if an
    agreement has been signed it is believed that she won't have a leg to stand
    on.
    Rumours abound over the split which have suggested that infi*delity may
    have been the cause. "She's terr*ible" a source stated, "always trying to
    get her leg over".
    Another source has suggested that her battle with alco*holism was the
    cause. "Macca couldn't handle it anymore" a friend said, "he would get home
    at night and find her legless"
    Many have attributed this to a problem which started with the present that
    Paul bought her prior to the wedding. He gave her a new prosthetic leg for
    Christmas but that was just a stoc*king-filler.
    A miner in Africa has an acc*ident and loses a leg. He says to his mate
    "I'm f---ed, who will want a one legged gold digger?" His mate says "try
    Paul McCartney"
    Finally a poem by Sir Paul McCartney:
    I lay upon a grassy bank
    My hands were all a quiver
    I slowly removed her suspe*nder belt
    and her leg fell in the river
    These jo*kes are funny but lets spare a thought for Paul please. Now she
    has left him, he's going to struggle to find another woman who can fill her
    shoe.
    MOVEMBER with Johno
    Hi all,
    During Movember (the month formerly known as November) I'll be growin a
    moustache. That's right, I'm bringing the Mo back because I'm passionate
    about changing the state of men's health.
    Not sure if I'll get it long enough to become a real long twirly Greek
    Style look in a month. I only started growing it on Nov 1.
    Seriously, way too many guys around the world are dying everyday from stuff
    like this & early detection & knowledge can help some of your best friends
    survive & if my lil "baby face" (as my cousin in Greece calls it !) and a
    mo can help save a few lives by raising awareness of this cause, I'm all
    for it !
    Male health is a major issue, did you know:
    1. Men are far less healthy than women. The average life expectancy of
    males is 6 years less than females.
    2. Every year in Australia 2,700 men die of prostate cancer - more than the
    number of women who die from breast cancer.
    3. Depression affects 1 in 6 men...Most don't seek help. Untreated
    depression is a leading risk factor for suicide. Rates of suicide are more
    than double the national road toll.
    Help me change the face of men's health by sponsoring my mo.
    Please go to http://www.movember.com/au/sponsor
    , enter
    my Rego number which is 39136 and your credit card details. All donations
    of $2 and over are tax deductible for Australian taxation resident purposes
    but I'll ask the Mo gang about tax credits for non-Aust people.
    For your viewing pleasure, I'll be uploading some photos of "da mo" y'all
    to my Movember site in my blog.
    The money raised by Movember will be used to change the face of men's
    health by creating awareness and funding research into prostate cancer and
    male depression.
    Movember culminates at the end of the month at the Gala Parte where I'll be
    parading my Mo on the cat walk for a chance to be crowned the Man of
    Movember. If you want to be part of this great night you'll have to purc
    hase a Gala Parte ticket for $33.00 (inc GST).
    Cheers
    /Johnno
    More info is available at www.movember.com
    Movember is proudly grown by Motorola, Polaroid, Remington and VB.
    Movember is proud partners with the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia
    and beyondblue - the national depression initiative.
    C'mon everyone & get involved with this !. I wasn't going to attend the
