Competition

Hi

The sun popped out for a few days, teased us and went away again. It was like the eye of a storm. We had torrential rain, sun and then back to rain. I am hoping that it will turn around and we will have a hot and sunny September, well you have to be optimistic don't you?

Our warehouse and our home is on a floodplain, near the Thames and we were advised to move all our valuables upstairs during the recent flood alerts. We were fortunate that we escaped any flooding, but it did make me think how vulnerable our properties are. Our lively hood and home could be devastated by circumstances beyond our control and I feel for those people whose homes or businesses did not escape.

Competition

Moving onto the competition this month, it is to win a Didymos baby sling from Little Green Angels. The baby sling is made from 100% organic cotton and is a wraparound style suitable from newborn until three years, although I think you would have to be super strong to carry a three year old around! Visit www.alotoforganics.co.uk and follow the link for the competition to enter.

The winners for last month's competition have been drawn, notified and hopefully received their prizes. There was one winner of the collection of facial products from Beyond Skincare and 10 runners up for the hydrating body oil. Beyond Skincare's regenerating night cream was voted in the top ten best organic products by Green Parent magazine. Visit www.beyondskincare.co.uk and check out their wonderful skincare range for yourself.

New Sites

We have new sites added to A Lot of Organics every month and I thought it might be useful if I just mention some we have recently added. Littlecote Soap Company offer a range of natural handmade soaps and bath products. Makes A Change offer a range of organic and fair trade baby and toddler clothes. Pero Organic offer organic food for dogs and cats. Atrisan Bread for biodynamic and organic bread. Find them all on www.alotoforganics.co.uk.

And Finally...

We are very close to the Reading Festival site so I am watching people arrive in their hundreds. The ground is already very boggy from the recent floods and rain. I hate to think what the site looks like already and I hope everyone have brought their wellies. I used to go back in the 70s when it was quite an intimate little festival, it is huge now and not something I enjoy anymore. I will be going out of Reading for the weekend for a nice peaceful rest! Whatever you are doing this weekend, I hope you have a great time.

Kind Regards
Andrea Clifford
